Melissa was introduced to Papercrafting by a friend who shared Stamping Up with her. With this introduction, she found a craft that she could not only fall in love with, but excel in. Before she knew it, she had made a business out of her craft. The rest is, as they say, history, and here for all of us to enjoy. I am so appreciative to that friend. The outcome has been a beautiful display of the most wonderful designs. I am amazed at what she can do with what once was just a piece of paper.
I don't believe that I have seen someone make paper come to life the way that Melissa does. Her use of color and texture to tell a story with her pieces just takes my breath. Every single arrangement is a work of art. Even the simplest of cards is put together to the smallest detail. You can see her care in each and every corner.
Melissa tells me about starting her Etsy Shop and how the first six months were very slow. Something that all Etsy Shop owners can relate to. She says that she considered closing and giving up. She completely revamped her product, her store, and herself to get it where it is today. Using that time as a place to look back on whenever things get hard or sales aren't where she might like them to be, helps her to stay focused and positive.
The ultimate goal for Melissa is to be able to focus full time on Vandicrafts and her Blog, not having to keep a day job. We all know how that is. She really enjoys her weekends, when she can take the time to really sit down and craft. Like me, she enjoys a good cup of coffee with her crafting. There is nothing that goes together better.
I loved listening to her story and how very strong Melissa is. She knows her capabilities and she has no problem saying so. There is no arrogance there, just confidence. That is a quality that I wish I saw more of in Artists. She will go very far, I have no doubt. Watch out, because this one is on fire...
You can find Melissa and Vandicrafts through any of the highlighted links on this page or via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or her Blog...

This week, I would like to introduce you to N. Pinar Kamaci, originally from Istanbul, she now resides with her husband in the seaside city of Antalya in southern Turkey. The rich history of Turkey is brought forth in the beautiful jewelry that you will find at PinaraDesign. She tells of drawing her artistic inspiration from some of the greatest sites in history, locations that some of us will only dream of. Places that empires were built on. I can only imagine living among such beauty.
She grew up in an artistic family. Both of her parents had art backgrounds and she went on to study art herself. She became and art director with Degrees in Graphic Design in Print Technology. It wasn't until she and her husband decided to move away from the hustle and bustle of city life that they chose to open their Etsy shop and sell such beautiful jewelry.
PinaraDesign came about from her own love of jewelry. She says that she cannot imagine leaving the house without it on. Sometimes she will mull over her pieces in her head for as long as a week before she even begins to create them. I can relate to that. Getting them just right is very important. The end result is absolutely breathtaking. The gorgeous way that she is able to take fiber art and turn it into a statement bracelet or necklace that will blow you away is fantastic. Every piece of her jewelry is amazing.
The fiber flower rings from PinaraDesign will make everyone ask where you got them. Her beautiful fiber art hair pins and brooches are so intricate and unique. She also makes those amazing barefoot sandals that are so awesome for beach weddings.
It is clear that Pinar is very dedicated to her craft and her wonderful life with her husband. They seem to enjoy life and each other very much. She mentions and speaks of him fondly. You can always tell how close someone is, each of her sentences was a "we". I definitely appreciated the closeness. I myself recently engaged, hope to one day have that kind of relationship. Who knows, maybe in a seaside town in Turkey.
This isn't going to make a lot of sense to anyone that isn't from Etsy. But, to those of you that are, you will understand. Pinar makes the most amazing treasuries I have ever seen. I personally don't make them very often, because I am not that great at it. I like to do the things I am good at. She however, has an eye for it and does an amazing job. You should really follow her and see how well she curates her collections. Check out her Beautiful Curations.

SETTING UP SHOP
HOW TO START/RUN AND ETSY BUSINESS WITH LOSING YOUR MIND, AND ALL OF YOUR FREE TIME
When you create your shop you will need to add a professional looking banner. There are many choices for purchasing one on the internet or obtaining free ones. My personal suggestion is that you use Canva and create one that is unique to you. I would create an image that you can somewhat replicate. I personally use the a similar image on all of my social media networks. My Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Shop and Blog all have very similar designs. This makes it so that when someone sees them, they recognize them as being a part of the Trampleedesigns Brand. This is what you will want to do for yourself. Once you start playing around in Canva, you will see that it is incredibly easy to use. You will use a custom design setting for you Shop Banner at 760px x 100px. Throughout this post I am placing different items that I have created in Canva to give you an example of what you can create.

- I am Tammie, a Designer | Mother | Partner and a lover of all things Handmade. I own TrampLeeDesigns and have the wonderful joy of creating something beautiful each and every day. This Blog is a collection of things I have learned on the road to getting my designs out there. It hasn't been an easy road and if I can make someone else's journey just a bit easier, I am happy. The truth is, I am quite the smart ass. I have a wicked sense of humor and find the most random things hilarious. Oh, and I think I am funny. I laugh at myself or at life, ALL THE TIME. I believe that life doesn't have to be hard, if we work together to make it better.
